About
JJ Thurlow-Criss
Artist/Director

I’ve always been a creative person. Throughout my life I’ve enjoyed writing, singing and performing and tried my hand with interior design, clay modelling and various other mediums. Having been forced to remain isolated during the Corona Virus pandemic my creativity was allowed to flourish discovering a new talent with Woodworking and Pyrography. I started out making signs in Japanese characters, Kanji and Katakana for a couple of local Karate clubs and have branched out into other symbols and designs.
From making signs and symbols, I branched out and taught myself how to use a bench lathe and started to make other turned items such as bowls, and beard shaving brushes examples of which can be seen in the "Designs" and "Shop" pages of this site.
I do a lot for the LGBT bear community and will be attending a lot more makers fairs in the near future. Aside from the items I have listed in the sale section I do bespoke requests as well so the sky is the limit.
